EDUCATION
James Wolken received his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration in 2008 from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, with a concentration in computer information systems. He graduated with cum laude honors and was a member of the Beta Gamma Sigma International Honor Society and the Golden Key International Honor Society.
James received his Juris Doctor from the Thomas Jefferson School of Law in San Diego, California in 2012 and again graduated with cum laude honors. In law school James served as Chief Notes Editor for the Thomas Jefferson Law Review, was published in the law review, and was a Pro Bono Service Award recipient for providing outstanding legal aid assistance to underserved populations.
BACKGROUND
James Wolken has been a member of the State Bar of California since 2012 and is Certified by the State Bar of California Board of Legal Specialization in Workers’ Compensation Law. Early in his career James served the San Diego County Office of the Alternate Public Defender and worked as a Certified Law Clerk for the San Diego Unified School District. While still in service of public entities today, James likewise serves all manner of clientele in need of expert workers’ compensation defense litigation including private self-insured and self-administered employers, insurance and reinsurance carriers, and brokers and risk management experts.
James is active as well outside of work. He is an avid international traveler, participates athletically in events such as the Tough Mudder USA, and raises money and awareness for the Wounded Warriors Project.
