EDUCATION
Kellen earned her JD and LLM in Taxation (with honors), from Golden Gate University in San Francisco. While attending law school, Kellen interned for three years with the Tax Appeals Assistance Program, litigating in front of the California Board of Equalization on behalf of clients facing violations and tax penalties assessed by California Franchise Tax Board.
BACKGROUND
After passing the bar, Kellen began her legal career making estate planning and tax services available to low-income individuals. Kellen has extensive litigation experience, litigating against the Internal Revenue Service, California Franchise Tax Board, and the California Employment Development Department, as well as experience handling a broad range of civil cases, including contract disputes, property issues, and employment law matters. Kellen comes to the firm with over 6 years’ experience in workers’ compensation defense, representing employers and insurance carriers in cases involving workplace injuries and claims. Kellen has been recognized as a Northern California Rising Star by Super Lawyers Magazine each year since 2022.
