Carolyn Bell, Chief Operating Officer

Dietz, Gilmor & Chazen Professional Corporation is pleased to announce the promotion of Carolyn Bell to Chief Operating Officer. Managing Partners Mark Gilmor and Avery Chazen made the announcement, noting that the COO title more accurately reflects the expansive role Carolyn has long held in overseeing firm operations.

“Carolyn is the backbone of this firm. Over nearly two decades, she has touched every aspect of our operations and made each one better. This title is long overdue, and we couldn’t be more proud to make it official.”

— Mark Gilmor and Avery Chazen, Managing Partners

Carolyn joined DGC in January 2008 as a temporary AP Clerk and built her career from the ground up — moving through payroll and HR before taking over as Finance Manager in 2015. She has since managed the firm’s accounting, human resources, payroll, and billing functions, supporting 54 attorneys across eight California offices. Mark and Avery credited her dedication, professionalism, and collaborative approach as the foundation of the trust and respect she has earned throughout the firm.

A champion of efficiency and technology, Carolyn has driven several firm-wide modernization initiatives — including transitioning the accounting department to a fully paperless operation and spearheading an electronic document intake system that transformed how DGC manages information across all offices. Her approach combines a drive for efficiency with an exacting eye for detail — because getting it done faster only matters if it’s done right.

Outside the office, Carolyn is an avid snowboarder, mountain biker, and hiker who stays active year-round. She lives in San Diego with her husband and three sons.
