Elizabeth Chapman
Attorney at Law, Greater Los Angeles
EDUCATION
Ms. Chapman received her Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Cornerstone University in Grand Rapids, Michigan in 2002, and subsequently worked for over a decade as an executive in real estate. Ms. Chapman transitioned to a legal career after receiving a Juris Doctor from Northwestern California University School of Law in Sacramento, California in 2021 with subsequent admission to the State Bar of California in 2022.
BACKGROUND
Ms. Chapman began her legal career working as a special education attorney negotiating with school districts and educational institutions to reach settlements and resolutions to benefit students with disabilities and their families. She made sure laws pertaining to Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act and the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) were upheld, and counseled parents on their legal rights and options in the special education process.
Ms. Chapman next decided to defend California’s employers in workers’ compensation cases and began doing so in 2022. Soon after, she discovered and joined the Greater Los Angeles office of Dietz, Gilmor & Chazen in 2023. Ms. Chapman now dedicates her career exclusively to defending California workers’ compensation claims. To achieve settlement and file closure goals for her clients, she provides quality legal representation and excellent customer service to all file stakeholders related to workers’ compensation defense in California, inclusive of insurance carriers, third-party administrators, self-insured employers, and med-legal and ancillary care vendors involved in her cases. Her business administration acumen has proven invaluable to her clients as she knows the importance of properly valuing each case early on in the process.
Outside of legal practice, Ms. Chapman enjoys spending family time with her husband and two daughters, hosting family game nights and watching movies. She also volunteers her spare time as a Girl Scout Leader alongside other parents. This includes camping trips, parades and other organized leadership activities for teaching the young women of tomorrow.
