EDUCATION
Ms. Castaneda attended both college and law school in Orange County. She attended Orange Coast College (OCC) in Costa Mesa, California where she received her Associate’s Degree in Art History in 2017. Ms. Castaneda was recognized on the Dean’s and Honor’s List while at OCC where she also played for the women’s soccer team. Ms. Castaneda then transferred to California State University, Fullerton in Fullerton, California where she graduated cum laude in 2020 with a Bachelor of Arts, in Art History. Ms. Castaneda went on to receive her Juris Doctor, from Chapman University School of Law in Orange, California in 2024. In addition to being a Merit Based Scholarship recipient for law school, she was involved as the marketing chair and events coordinator of the Chapman Women Lawyers Association, as well as the president and historian of the Chapman Art Law Society.
BACKGROUND
Ms. Castaneda was admitted to the State Bar in May of 2025. She joined the Orange County office of Dietz, Gilmor & Chazen in August of 2024 as a post-bar law clerk and transitioned into the role of associate attorney. She is dedicated to representing the interests of major insurance carriers, third party administrators, public and private self-insured employers in all aspects of workers’ compensation defense. During law school, Ms. Castaneda was a law clerk at several immigration law firm in the Southern California area where she assisted in the representation of immigrants during removal proceedings, citizenship/family matters, and waivers. Ms. Castaneda was also a volunteer for the Ukranian Mothers and Children Transport (UMAC) which assisted Ukranian refugees in finding safety in the United States through humanitarian parole. Outside of her legal career, Iliana enjoys playing soccer, reading, and traveling. She is an avid supporter of women’s soccer having played since she was five years old. She has visited 11 counties thus far, including a month-long study abroad in Italy during law school where she studied the relationship between international law, art, and cultural property.
