EDUCATION

Mr. Truitt received his Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice, with a minor in Psychology, from California Baptist University in Riverside, California in 2015. His collegiate honors included the Dean’s List, President’s Scholarship, Alpha Chi Honors Society Member, and graduating Magna Cum Laude.
Mr. Truitt received his Juris Doctor from Chapman University School of Law in Orange, California in 2022. In addition to being a Merit Based Scholarship recipient for law school, Thomas fully self-funded the remainder of his law school tuition and living costs as a full-time managing supervisor at one of the largest QSR (quick service restaurant) chains in the nation, being Chick-Fil-A.

BACKGROUND

Mr. Truitt is a member of the State Bar of California since 2023, and joined the Orange County office of Dietz, Gilmor & Chazen in the same year to dedicate himself exclusively to defending California employers in workers’ compensation claims.  As associate attorney with the firm, he now represents employers and adjudicators from a variety of industries, including airline catering and aviation related companies, big box discount retail stores, as well as engineering and construction companies.  To achieve settlement and file closure goals for his clients, Thomas Truitt provides quality legal representation and excellent customer service for all file stakeholders related to workers’ compensation defense, including large insurance carriers, third-party administrators, self-insured employers, and all med-legal and ancillary care vendors involved in cases.

Outside of legal practice, Thomas is an avid reader of science fiction novels.  He has read all works published by J.R.R. Tolkien, including The Lord of the Rings trilogy.  Other favorites include Sherlock Holmes, by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, The Inheritance Cycle, by Christopher Paolini, and The Belgariad and Mallorean series by David Eddings.

Prior to law school, Thomas served as Archery Club President in college and placed first in both State and National competitions several years running.  Notably, he participated in Olympic level Archery competitions in the traditional recurve category and competed in the National Olympic Trials.  Thomas’s current hobbies include medieval armor making, kickboxing, and historical European sword fighting.
