Vanik Aroutunian

EDUCATION
Mr. Aroutunian received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology in 2014 from California State University, Northridge. He went on to earn his Juris Doctor Degree from California Western School of Law in 2024, with a specialization in Business Law. He was a member of the Business Law Society, Competitive Advocacy Program, and Moot Court Honors Board, where he competed in national Mock Trial competitions. He is the recipient of two Distinguished Advocate Awards in both Appellate Advocacy and Mock Trial competitions.
BACKGROUND
Mr. Aroutunian was born in Yerevan, Armenia. His family moved to the United States in 1992, when he was just five years old, and he grew up in Los Angeles, CA. After moving to San Diego for law school, he fell in love with the city and decided to stay. He was admitted to the State Bar of California in 2025. He initially joined Dietz, Gilmor & Chazen in 2024, where he worked as a post bar law clerk and went on to become an Associate Attorney in 2025. Mr. Aroutunian now brings his zealous advocacy to represent the interest of employers in a variety of industries such as school districts, hospitals, and construction companies all throughout San Diego. In addition to his experience in Workers’ Compensation Defense, Mr. Aroutunian also has experience in Construction Defect Litigation. Apart from dedicating his time to representing the best interest for his clients, Mr. Aroutunian is an avid runner who completed five marathons. In his spare time, he also enjoys basketball, mixed martial arts, and reading about historical figures and events.
